Winter Session I 2018

Painting From Photos

Using photos for reference can be a valuable tool for an artist. Photography not only captures a moment in time, but offers the ability to incorporate elements into a painting that would be impossible to do otherwise. This class will explore how to use photographic images to get a better understanding of structure, and composition possibilities when executing watercolor paintings. Students can pull from  a library of their own photos that can be enlarged (no photos of animals or people please), or may choose from a selection provided by the instructor.

WHEN: Thursday, 10:00–12:00, 1/25–3/1
WHERE: Shomrei Emunahy Temple, Montclair.

Registration begins 1/8, through the Montclair Adult School.
