Drawing with Colored Pencils
No matter your skill level, learn the basics of how to draw with colored pencils. This class will explore various techniques which include types of mark-making, shading, texture, and how to blend and create vibrant color.

Drawing From Nature
Learn how to see and draw nature by building observational and visual interpretation skills. This class will demystify the process of drawing and provide a foundational approach toward documenting the natural world that inspires us.

THURSDAY, 12:30–2:30
Still Life Watercolor Painting
Learn what it takes to make a great still life painting. The basics of composition, watercolor techniques as well as the complexities of direct observation will be done in this class. All levels of students or artists are welcome in this course.

Sketching in the Garden

Wednesday, 10:00 AM–noon
Sketching is the visual recording of personal observations from life. The class will consist of a series of quick sketching sessions (15 minutes each) within the 2 hour class. We will go over practical tips to capture the essentials of any scene quickly with creative flair.

WHEN: 7/18, 7/25, 8/1, 8/8
WHERE: Avis Campbell Garden, located behind the United Way Building at 60 S. Fullerton Ave, (next to the Main Library). Should it rain, we will meet in the Tower Room on the 2nd floor of the Main Library.
